Balancing Glorious Georgian Detailing with the Demands of Family Life

Homes & Interiors Scotland have produced a stunning Luxe edition as a collector’s issue and we were delighted to have one our favourite recent projects featured. We are very lucky to have such wonderful clients, and in this case the brief was “to create a home that felt calm, comfortable and tactile…to be modern but classical in style, and to blend natural fabrics and finishes with original and eclectic detailing.”

Jackie was “keen to make the most of the period detailing. ‘I love Georgian architecture’ she says. ‘The proportions lend themselves to modern and traditional designs, and as long as you get the scale right, you can do anything. In fact the biggest mistake you can make when dealing with large rooms such as these is to wimp on the scale of the furniture and lighting. Don’t be afraid of them.’ ”
