With over 30 years of experience, Jackie Fisken has been at the helm of Ampersand Interiors in Edinburgh as Design Director since 1993. Jackie is an influential presence in interiors bringing huge creativity and imagination to every commission. A belief in the individuality of projects and design rooted in the personality and lifestyle of clients means that Ampersand has no house or signature style – although Jackie’s inspired eye for colour and eclecticism is much sought after.

Jackie is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design and a BIID Registered Interior Designer.

As Co-Director Callum Fisken manages the Edinburgh design studio where creativity is to the fore. Alongside his wealth of business experience, Callum is pivotal in driving the studio’s ethos and innovation, overseeing larger contracts and – when he gets the chance – providing sketching and painting skills. Together Callum and Jackie have forged an enthusiastic, inspiring and professional, award-winning team of designers skilled in all aspects of interior design and interior architecture.

Bronte is a hugely experienced designer who combines natural creativity with technical CAD skills to ensure her flair-filled designs come to life as effectively in reality as on paper. Her love of traditional design was initially honed at Todhunter Earle Interiors in London and has flourished at Ampersand to embrace a huge variety of interiors styles.

Having grown up with interior designers as parents Amy has been immersed in design since birth! Over recent years she has developed both the creative talent and the organisational aptitude necessary to successfully manage large projects as well as establishing her own distinctive aesthetic. While Amy remains an integral part of the Edinburgh team, she also heads up Ampersand’s burgeoning London interior design studio.

Jenna qualified in Architecture at the University of Dundee and further developed her skills at practices in London, Edinburgh and Perth before joining us at Ampersand. She brings great architectural knowledge and expert CAD skills alongside a huge enthusiasm for all things interiors.

Jen is our immensely capable and organised Interior Design Assistant. Having amassed considerable administrative and logistical experience in the construction sector, Jen made a change of direction in her career to pursue her passion for design having achieved a first class degree in Interior Design.

Stanley is responsible for ensuring a warm welcome awaits everyone who pops into the showroom.

Ampersand’s focus is a highly personal, comprehensive service that ensures a commission is as enjoyable as it is productive and results in distinctive properties that feel truly wonderful to spend time in.

Over the years Ampersand has created a network of talented professionals, trades and craftspeople covering every conceivable aspect of interior architecture and design. All teams evolve and we continue to discover and seek out a breadth of talent to ensure we are perfectly placed for every project.

Interior Architecture

Specialist interior architecture input ensures that the layout and flow of a property are considered as carefully as the finishes. Detailed CAD and technical plans sit alongside our creativity to re-imagine and liberate space, producing stunning residential and commercial environments.

Whether working on a stand-alone basis or alongside architects and contractors we ensure that the completed project is as inspired as our initial design.

Interior Design

Our talented designers approach every project as a very individual venture, to produce interiors that complement our clients’ personality and lifestyle. The relationships we develop allow us not only to design specifically for each client, but also to explore ideas beyond their initial comfort zone, with the end result being fresh, interesting and truly unique.

While we have access to an unrivalled selection of fabrics, furnishings, furniture, accessories and finishes, our role is far more than the supply of product. It is our exuberant design flair, attention to detail and outstanding workmanship that add value, quality and character to each and every project.

Bespoke Furniture

Our lovingly designed furniture is handmade to order by the very best craftsmen. From the drawing board through to final installation each project, whether the commission of a single piece, fitted wardrobes, bookcases or bespoke dressing room and study installations, is finished to the highest quality.

Starting with a blank page ensures that each piece is not only individual and beautiful but also specifically designed to accommodate even the most exacting of requirements.
